1991

Bob Schmidt begins his career in the industry at Lehman Brothers Inc.

2002

Scott and Bob form a partnership at Oppenheimer & Co., named The Cascadia Group.

2004

Leslie Ralph joins The Cascadia Group as head of administration.

2006

Bob Schmidt attains the Certified Investment Management Analyst® certification.

2011

The Cascadia Group launches discretionary Dividend Portfolio strategy, managed by Scott Kruse.

2014

The Cascadia Group creates discretionary Low Volatility Income Portfolio Strategy, managed by Bob Schmidt.

2015

Devon Scmidt begins his career in the industry at Morgan Stanley.


The Cascadia Group constructs discretionary Hybrid Moderate and Hybrid Aggressive Portfolio Strategies, managed by Bob Schmidt.

2017

The Cascadia Group moves to Stifel.


The Cascadia Group creates discretionary Tax-Exempt High-Yield Bond Fund Portfolio Strategy, managed by Bob Schmidt.


Scott Kruse attains the Accredited Investment Fiduciary® certification.

2018

Devon Schmidt joins Stifel and The Cascadia Group, specializing in wealth planning and insurance.

2021

Carter Rusch joins Stifel and The Cascadia Group as a Registered Client Service Associate.

2024

The Cascadia Group is named to Forbes' Best-in-State Wealth Management Teams.

2025

The Cascadia Group is named to Forbes' Best-in-State Wealth Management Teams for the second year in a row.

2026

The Cascadia Group is named to Forbes' Best-in-State Wealth Management Teams for the third year in a row.
